Don't miss out on these blogs!
Welcome to the eleventh instalment of our Best of the Blogs feature, where we play catch-up on the best of the previous week's blogs. Some quality blogs this week, covering a broad spectrum of topics, keep it up. Check out the top three below and be sure to keep the blogs coming!
Blog #3: ADDICTION by Bigbcbob
Third spot this week is Bigbcbob who tackles his struggle with a Hexic addiction. As someone that’s had that hexagonal monkey on my back, I can say it takes a lot of courage to own up to a Hexic addiction and I commend Bigbcbob for doing so.
Good blog, my advice to you would be to hang in there. The urge to rotate clusters of hexagons never really goes away but, with time, it gets easier to deal with.

”Start playing a square related game and wean yourself off the habit. Or perhaps re-tile your bathroom floor with squares.
It's hip to be a square.” from Oliver

Blog #2: The last good offline multiplayer shooter game? by arnies
Second up is arnies with a blog that harks back to the good ol’ days of split screen multiplayer with a discussion on offline multiplayer shooters. Arnies uses Medal Of Honor: Rising Sun as an example of what an offline FPS should aspire to be and covers some of the elements that made split screen multiplayer fun.
This was an interesting read and sparked a ton of discussion, check out an example of the comments below.
” I think a little gem called Mashed is the best 'mates around a tv' game. It's like micromachines, but funner-rer-er.” from Wozza
” I remember the Ballpark level! I played this game co-op.. im not sure i ever actually played any true multiplayer though..” by Koopa18
” The original Perfect Dark and Golden Eye for N64, and PS2 had the Timesplitters series. Xbox had the Halo's and Unreal Championship. These are the most memorable to me. Apart from the Quake games. Oh sweet Jesus yes.” from SmurfWorks
Blog #1: O, Retro 2: The Awakening by Dogonabus
Returning to take the spot this week is Dogonabus with a follow-up to his previous blog on the N64’s glory days. This blog picks up where the last one left off – Trademe auctions. Only this time we have results, Dogonabus was able to obtain a copy of Turok 2 and as such it’s the focus of this blog. This is a well-written, funny and informative read, I’d definitely recommend you check this out.
Here’s a sample of the comments.
