Buyer's Guide to Halo 3

Buyer's Guide to Halo 3

Love Halo? Got too much money? Read on!

The hype train for Halo 3 is practically traveling at the speed of light these days, with promotions and advertising coming out the wazoo. Microsoft have also been going a little crazy with all the Halo-branded peripherals and accessories, providing gamers with an abundance of choice when it comes to Master Chief-inspired items for their 360. We’ve decided to lay all the items out here for your benefit, so you know precisely what you can waste your money on!

Halo 3 Legendary Edition
$199.95

The Legendary Edition will be released in limited quantities and arrive in a Spartan helmet case, along with two bonus discs full of additional content. Here’s what Microsoft say about it:

The first disc will provide behind-the-scenes footage and videos; numerous high-definition featurettes documenting the creative design process; and even a look at some early game concepts and their evolution through the game’s development. The second bonus disc, an exclusive to the Legendary Edition, will include completely remastered cinematic material from Halo and Halo 2, supplemented with developer commentaries, to provide a refresher course on the thrilling Halo story so far.

Obviously one for the bigger fans!

Halo 3 Limited Edition
$119.95

The Limited Edition will also include a bounty of extras. Within a metal collector’s case, gamers will also receive the first bonus disc found in the Legendary Edition, as well as a special Halo fiction and art book. A must-have for Halo collectors and a source of invaluable and exclusive information, the piece is an elaborate and compelling guide to the species and factions that inhabit the worlds of the Halo universe, with never-before-seen art and story that expand and illustrate the depth and breadth of the Halo fiction.

Halo 3 Standard Edition
$99.95

And for those who crave nothing more than the third chapter to one of the most popular gaming trilogies ever, the Standard Edition will simply consist of the Halo 3 game.

Halo 3 Limited Edition Console
$749.95

If you’re a fan of consoles that are swamp green (and who isn’t?), then you should pick this baby up before it vanishes forever. This limited edition Xbox 360 is much the same as the Premium bundle, with the pleasant edition of an HDMI port. Of course, you’re paying more for it, so unless you’re a huge Halo fan, consider getting the Elite 360 instead.

Halo 3 Missile Case Organizer
$49.95

If you’re buying all the Halo 3-related stuff you can find, you'll need somewhere to store them. Falling firmly in the category of ‘you need to be a complete Halo nut to get this’, the Missile Case will store your games and controllers in a tidy little box.

Halo 3 Wireless Headset
$79.95

Online Halo just wouldn’t be complete without a bunch of racist, homophobic young boys screaming at you over the internet. So if you feel the need to scream back at them, and really hate wires, consider picking up this Halo-branded wireless headset.

Halo 3 Wireless Controllers
$99.95

Two different Halo 3-themed wireless controllers are available, with artwork designed by Spawn artist Todd McFarlane. You can pick up either a Covenant Brute or a Master Chief controller, and both will come with a collectible figurine as well.
