Here’s week two of our Best of the Blogs feature. There’s a lot of quality blogging happening from the NZGamer reader base so narrowing it down to three entries is no easy task. Don’t fret if yours didn’t make it as there’s always next week! Without further ado here are your blogs of the week.

Blog #3: I remember Georgie Pie... by ChatterboxZombie

In this blog, ChatterboxZombie remembers one of the casualties of McDonalds' rise to power in the fast food scene during the mid to late 90’s - Georgie Pie. As ChattboxZombie states in his blog, maybe it was unavoidable that a combination of pie and fast food restaurant was destined to fail. Maybe they didn’t have the healthiest food and maybe those ball pens were the most unhygienic places in the country... but I’ll be damned if I don’t miss Georgie Pie. Below are some comments from NZGamer readers who, more than ten years on, are still grieving.

Blog #2: Finding The Need For Speed by Wozza

With his blog, Wozza takes us on a trip down memory lane. A trip to a time when Need for Speed meant more than what kind of body kit you had on or how many decals you could slap on your ride. Back when the game was all about cars you could never afford and places you had never been to. Wozza also puts some real world course ideas forward, from our own Manawatu and the Desert Road through Japan and Switzerland to America’s California Highway 1. This one sparked a lot of discussion, here are a few quotes from the comments.

“The classic NFS games were awesome. You drive a log, an outhouse, or a freakin' T-Rex by using cheats in NFS2. :-D” By Riot Pig

“The old NFS games were awesome! I don't care about customising cheap crappy cars into boyracer cars. I want to drive my McLaren F1 down a winding road at 300KPH. Blog #1: So wrong... yet so very right. by stupidlikeafox

Returning this week to claim the #1 spot, stupidlikeafox gives us his humorous take on all things naughty. Examined in his blog are some of the more... eccentric, for lack of a better term, ways of passing time. From not showering to drinking cold beer (singular, for safetys sake) in the shower. He also manages to hit on some of the guilty pleasures we all indulge in from time to time. Whether it’s scoffing back packets of biscuits, annihilating someone in a video game or perhaps belting out some Deep Obsession during a long road trip.

The comments section was rife with admissions of guilt over having watched the S Club 7 show (I’m not judging, I watched it too), admiration for Rachel and mild disgust over the misleadingly dubbed ‘bikini lady’. Here are just a few examples.
