Nintendo's E3 Press Conference Live!

Nintendo's E3 Press Conference

Live coverage of Nintendo's E3 conference.

What does Nintendo have in store for this years E3? As per usual, we're up in the wii hours (sorry!) of the morning to bring you all the latest updates.

Here's how it works: We'll be updating this page with up to the minute announcements and all the happenings from the conference. Newest updates are at the top, so keep refreshing this page to see the latest updates.

Alright, here we go:

5:10am - And that's it. Hrmm. Did it live up to your expectations? Discuss!

5:09am - It's all about bringing a smile to someone's face!!

5:08am - Time for more Regginator and Camminator. No seriously, that's what Reggie called them when playing Wii Sports Resort. Sigh. And now they're recapping everything.

5:07am - Up to four players playing together...and they're doing the Mario theme! And oh my god everyone on stage looks stupid.

5:05am - Looks...interesting. I think those used to the precision in Guitar Hero might balk at it, but then, it's not really aimed at them, is it?

5:03am - Apparently Wii Music can get you learning about playing drums in "just a few weeks".

5:01am - You can use 50 different instruments..."I don't want to worry about playing the wrong note". So we have the sax, double bass, violin, piano, guitar, etc.

4:59am - Miyamoto: "This year I would like to introduce you to Wii Music...it allows everyone to experience the joy of performing music."

4:55am - Balance board is back...lights are off...Rock Band-esque game? Using only Wii remote, nunchuck, and balance board. Miyamoto is on! Er, using a remote to play a sax! Must be Wii Music! This is one I've been looking forward to. Haha, awesome, the drums sound like Sunday Bloody Sunday. You can see Mii's in the crowd.

4:54am - Even Reggie looks silly playing on the Wii! Who knew? "Wii Motion Plus represents a much broader opportunity". So the main thing this add-on is for is more accurate sword fighting? I can handle that.

4:52am - Fencing! Or, rather, chopping at wood!

Wait, this from Kotaku's blog: "The Kiwis will be pleased". Do we Kiwis have a thing for hacking at wood that I somehow missed?

4:50am - It's a day at the beach! Includes jet skiing and a couple of others. Frisbee? Made more fun with Wii Motion Plus!!!!

4:48am - When doing this sort of liveblogging thing, I really need some snacks beside me next time. Just saying. Oh, and also: Wii Sports Resort! Good lord, that's going to be quite a seller.

4:47am - Ready for more Reggie? He's talking about that new ultra super mega Wii remote add-on for greater precision...and intensity, apparently.

4:45am - GTA: China Town Wars coming to DS this year! Modern day Liberty City once again...custom engine. Dangnamit, no more details.

4:44am - Oh god, more Pokemon? November 10th. Pokemon Rangers: Shadow of Almia.

4:43am - Spore Creatures on DS! Focused on the creature stage (naturally). Share your creations via Wi Fi. A shame you can't share between PC and DS! But still looks neat for what it is.

4:42am - Another DS Guitar Hero game? Called Decades...song sharing between games apparently. Well, I guess the first one did do pretty darn well.

4:40am - More stats about how awesome Ninty is amongst non-gamers. They really do like numbers, don't they? From Liam: "it's like an episode of Sesame Street! This presentation brought to you by the letters D, S, and the number 1!"

4:39am - Call of Duty: World at War is up now. Flamethrowers! Oh, and Cammie's back. Get ready for more Ultra Enthusiasm!!

4:38am - Rayman Raving Rabbis TV Party - uses the Balance Board, another big surprise. Coming Fall '09 in the US...goodness knows when it'll be released for us.

4:37am - Three games to show you here. First up - Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Lightsabers ahoy. People swinging Wii remotes!

4:35am - Still talking about how much stuff they - and third parties - have sold. We know! We were there!

4:33am - "We're so awesome, look at how much stuff we've sold!!" Okay, so that's not really what he said, I'm just great at summing up.

4:29am - Numbers time: more than 20 million DS's shipped...but "we're no closer to being satisfied". Charts 'n stuff! "By next March, DS sales will reach 100 million!"

4:28am - Reggie! Accept no substitutes! (Sorry Cammie)
Animal Crossing City Folk due by the end of the year with the new peripheral.

4:26am - Wii Speak...it's a microphone! For...interesting, for playing online and talking at the same time. Wow, I'm not sure if this bold new technology will ever take off...

4:25am - Showing off the game (which is a HUGE surprise, obviously). "You should really feel you are visiting a realistic world"...now he's talking to a duck? And you can go to a hair saloon.

4:23am - Animal Crossing. The creator talks about what he likes about the title. "No required goals".

4:21am - "There's a danger in standing still...we seek fresh surprises". New awesome titles forthcoming?

4:20am - Iwata: "We're seeing some of our best sales figures outside of the Xmas period". Good! Also mentions Guitar Hero III, and how the Wii version is outselling the others. Ties it in to the barrier between gamers and non-gamers.

4:17am - The teams behind Mario and Zelda are making new games! They'll bring new titles along. Possibly Zelda tennis? We can only hope.

4:16am - "Long shelf life of Ninty titles like Brain Age and Super Mario Bros...titles like Mario Kart still show up in top twenty worldwide sales."

4:14am - Iwata (President of Nintendo) is up! Says a change has taken place in gaming.

4:13am - Cammie's playing Wii Play snowboarding with Shaun! Oh wow this is cheesy. It hurts! And....now he's gone. Shaun White Snowboarding on Wii by end o year.

4:12am - Is it just me, or can American accents be kind of annoying at times? No? Just me? Ah well.

4:11am - Oh wow Cammie looks overly wired and excited. Now Shaun White is up (with his own Mii) talking Wii Play.

4:08am - Nintendo promises to keep the world smiling! How nice of them. And they're bringing on...Cammie Dunnaway? "My name is not Reggie". Very true.

4:06am - Okay, here we go! No one likes to start on time apparently...

4:01am - It's early and we're awake. Doesn't seem like the kind of thing a gamer should be doing, right? Still, there's good reason for it - let's see if Nintendo can come out swinging after Microsoft's well-received event yesterday.

God, this is almost patronizing. Fun with numbers! I feel like I'm almost on an episode of Sesame Street.

"Nintendo's press conference was brought to by the letters D, S, and the number 1."

Man, can anyone argue with the opinion that Wii is for kids? How many white peripherals does one system need....

They should release mods of the WiiMote that look like lightsabers to coincide with Lego Star Wars etc. Like, it could be all Lego looking, how sweet would that be.
