God of War: Chains of Olympus

I'd never played a God of War before, just never got around to it, but knew it was something i'd like. Ever since i got my PS3 i can't bring myself to play PS2 games. Don't know why, just feels so ... retro. And that i'm missing out on playing PS3. PSP to the rescue. Long trips and plane flights is my PSP's usual domain (and perhaps in bed when i'm sick) . I'll not play PSP at home, cos i've got a PS3 there. Seems like a waste.
But during a short return flight Kratos had wooed me. Maybe it was his loin cloth.
I cursed the plane for needing to land, i loathed the stewardess for asking for electrical devices to be switched off. I resented the fact that i didn't get a proper meal (different topic). As soon as i got home i started it up again and played it all weekend. It was a compulsion i couldn't resist. I couldn't really work out why it struck a chord with me. Maybe it was because i was all FPSed out and it was a breathe of fresh air or maybe it was just because it was fun. I won't go into what the gameplay was like, you've probably read it elsewhere. But it's one of those games where you forget you're watching a little screen in your hands. It immerses you to the extent that your immediate environment ceases to exist.
It feels like a much bigger game than you could rightfully expect from a handheld. So far this is in my top 3 PSP titles.
It's whetted my appetite for GoW3, let's hope they squeeze more out of the PS3, because the PSP has set the bar pretty high.
