Well nuts, it’s another SingStar title that isn’t aimed squarely at me. But if you’re a younger sort of person who’s into your current pop music, then it’s worth checking out the tracklist below and seeing if any of it tickles your fancy.

After writing so many SingStar reviews over the last couple of years, it’s hard to come up with anything else to say, beyond my experiences with individual songs. So here we go:

“Mambo No. 5” was one of my favourites – despite the rather misogynistic video clip, it’s one of those songs that fits the SingStar mould: not necessarily high quality, but damn good fun to sing along to. In this vein, Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing” and Peter Andre’s “Mysterious Girl” were also quite a time.

But beyond that, I have to say that SingStar Party Hits perhaps suffers from the same thing the earliest couple of SingStars suffered from – being too broad and vague in its theme. It tries to half heartedly cater to everyone, while ending up pleasing no one. It doesn’t help that some of the other good songs on this list are already available for the PlayStation 3 version of SingStar.

If you don’t own a PS3 yet, check the tracklist below – if you like what you see, go nuts. But for my money, there have been far better SingStar collections in the past – hopefully there’ll be more in the future.
