Video Games Live Photos

Couldn't go? We'll let you off, just this once, though...

Last night Wellington experienced something which has never been experienced before here in New Zealand. Something which many people, especially after last night, would call the experience. An experience, as an NZ gamer, you cannot, and should not, live without.

Video Games Live rocked the faces off thousands of gamers and music lovers last night, proving that video game music isn't something to be taken lightly, and that gaming has become mainstream, and a part of our day-to-day lives.

Video Games Live isn't just a concert, it is a celebration of our culture.

If you weren't able to come then we truly feel sorry for you, however, in the spirit of being ever-so-lovely (an NZGamer.com staple) we've got a series of photographs from the event you can check out below. Next week we'll even have exclusive video coverage, so stay tuned!

Rehearsal
All day Friday and Saturday the Vector Wellington Orchestra and the Chapman Tripp Opera Chorus practiced unfamiliar tunes with an unequivocal finesse. Their hard-work really paid off, and if you were at the event you'll know exactly what I mean.

Pre-Show
Nope, these aren't screenshots from Resident Evil 5, folks. Those are the fans stumbling on through the doorway to the TSB Arena. The Guitar Hero competition was quite a big hit (as you can see), even our editor, Tristan Clark, had a go... and almost won!

As soon as we saw Sonic we knew he'd already won the costume contest - Sonic always comes first.

The Show
See? First. Though that Aeris was quite a sight. We're not going to show you photos of the show, however, why? Because we've got Video Coverage of the event we'll be sharing next week. So stay tuned, you won't want to miss it!

Post-Show
The intensely talented trio of Tommy Tallarico, Jack Wall and 'The Videogame Pianist' patiently, and generously, signed many a autograph as hundreds waiting in queue.

Again, stay tuned as we'll be bringing to you exclusive Video Coverage of Video Games Live from Wellington, as well as a world exclusive announcement regarding the event.

Did you go? What'd you think? Sound off in the forums, the buzz has already begun!
