This Version of Civilization feels a lot like the original game except much of the micro-management has been removed or handled for you. No longer will you find your cities constantly rioting. While you can tweak the production values of your cities, it is mostly Template driven. I approve of these changes as I often got quite sick of tweaking my cities when you have 10-20 of the things around the map.
The map is also somewhat smaller than I have grown to expect from a civilization game leading to somewhat shorter games than the sometimes epic struggles of the original.
Overall I would definitely recommend anyone who has enjoyed civilization games in the past to pick it up, it has a lot of replay value. Players new to the series will find the learning curve in Civilization Revolution easier than mastering the fine intricacies of the original civilization games.
