Don't miss out on these blogs!
Welcome to the tenth instalment of our Best of the Blogs feature, where we play catch-up on the best of the previous week's blogs. It’s good to see lots of interesting blogs this week, keep it up. Check out the top three below and be sure to keep those quality blogs coming!
Blog #3: My Plea to Nintendo Fans by Goku
Third spot this week is Goku with an appeal aimed at Nintendo fans to wake up and smell the roses, so to speak, in regards to their rehashing of licenses and proven gameplay formulas. While I don’t necessarily agree with everything he’s written, I think Goku has managed to raise some valid points in regards to Nintendo’s sometimes excessive use of a mascot or two to push a title.
This one sparked some heated debate in the comments section, check some of them out below.
”Zelda games have been a bit 'meh' lately and I don't enjoy Smash Bros - Mario Galaxy on the other hand is one of the best games I have played in years.” from Wozza
”I like smash brothers, it is fast paced and you need to use your character well to beat experienced players, Mario Galaxy is beyond great and I love the Zelda franchise, if I remember rightly they were the first to introduce z targeting in ocarina of time.” by itachi27
”I know it sucks, but hey it works doesnt it? nintendo are still making a whole heap of money from this so they're not going to change any time now.
if it ain't broke don;t fix it.” from alienhominid
Blog #2: O, Retro! by Dogonabus
Second place this week is Dogonabus with a blog that starts by going back through time to visit the N64. Included in the blog are some of the sacrifices Dogonabus made to get copies of Perfect Dark and Majora’s Mask and some Trademe action in an attempt to get some of those ‘sacrifices’ back. As always, an enjoyable read.
Here’s a quick look at some of the replies in the comments section.
”I have got Banjo Tooie and Kirby 64 as some of the rarer titles from TM.
Other titles that still have a decent price tag i own are Mario Party 2, Mario Kart 64 and Smash Bros - but i got them in the shops back in the day.
Also picked up a few titles such as Buck Bumble and Episode I: Racer.. that werent as spectacular, but fun nonetheless.” from Koopa18
”A few years ago I sold my N64 with Perfect Dark (one of my favourite games ever) as I needed the money. I don't think I even lasted two months before I went out and bought another N64 with PD; I missed it so much. Even though I've not played with my N64 in over a year, I doubt I'd ever sell it again as I know I'd just go and buy one again later on tongue.gif
The only other games I owned on N64 were Golden Eye and Conker's Bad Fur Day. The N64 really was lacking in decent games tbh...” from Mongrel_Rob
Blog #1: Fave videogame vehicles by djkicks
Top spot this week is djkicks with another Misa Campo laced blog focusing on his favourite video game vehicles. With a wide variety of vehicles chosen from Halo’s Warthog to the Bigfoot from Monster Truck Madness, djkicks has served up a good list of some of gaming’s best rides. Be sure to check this one out and let djkicks know what you thought in the comments.
Speaking of comments, check out what some users had to say below.
