Ayo. Have you checked out my blog about girls I wrote last week? Well this week I'm writing about one of my favourite video game series, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.
It's a change from the usual games I play where I just shoot everyone and everything. I can do that in this game too, but if I run and gun I'll die pretty quickly. I have all the Splinter Cell games in my collection. I enjoy the sneakiness of it all. It's sort of like being a ninja but with a gun instead of a sword.
The main character Sam gets some pretty cool gadgets too. Like sticky shockers, or a gun with a shotgun/sniper rifle attachment. But I don't really like using all the gadgets. In the latest game, Double Agent, there are so many gadgets it's almost too easy. The most useful gadget is the most simple. The knife. In the original splinter cell game you did not get a knife and so you either had to shoot the guy (if you missed all hell broke lose) or grab him from behind and knock him out. If the guards found you and your gun was not drawn you could only smack them with your elbow which took a few hits. With the knife taking out enemies is pretty quick and easy. You just stab them, hiyaa!

I'm playing Chaos Theory right now. It's a lot of fun. I'm trying to get 100% in the game. To do this you have to not kill anyone, don't raise any alarms, have no bodies found, and complete all objectives including the opportunity objectives. This is pretty hard to do. And on top of that I'm doing it on expert. This means you can't just hide in the shadows. You need to have the darkness meter on zero for them not to see you, and even then if you move they will spot you.
I have done almost all of the game now. But I hate the parts where I have to search the level for something. Like I was doing one level where I had to find some microphones. I had done everything else and got to the end of the level and realised I had forgotten to get two microphones. If you thought going through a level without being spotted was hard, you should try going backwards through the level to find the mics, then going forwards through it again. I could just knock the bay guys out but I think if you knock too many of them out it decreases your mission percentage. Like on one level I knocked out 4 guys and only got 84%. But on other missions I knocked out 1 or 2 guys and still got 100%. I should do some experiments to see how many I can actually knock out and still get 100%.
The story is pretty confusing. I tried to explain that to my girlfriend Misa Campo when she asked what it was about. By the end of it she was like:

I'm looking forward to the next game Splinter Cell: Conviction. But it's been delayed several times and it's apparently coming out in 2010 or something. I even heard it has been cancelled. But I can't find any official word about that. Will be stink if that was true. It sounds pretty cool and it's going to take the stealth side of things in a different direction, blending in with crowds and stuff. I hope it does get released. I'd like to see what happens with Sam.
If you are yet to play a splinter cell game I suggest you give it a go. I think Chaos Theory is the best in the series. Check it out!
Aiiight laters.
