Online Gamer Cheats

How do you guys feel about all the time and energy that goes into developing an online player, exploring the environmens, establishing alliances, and then having some lowlifes steal it all or manipulate the game.

 

I dont get why people have to cheat etc.

 

I have just lost a character in Everquest due to some rogue cheating - has this happened much to anyone else?

 

Subsequently I have been googling to find out some remedy or solution and found some interesting articles about the plague of online cheaters.

 

But those subscribers may not stay around if the new virtual worlds are full of the cheating and hacking that has marred previous online games. A small but fractious minority in online gaming circles, cheaters can suck the fun out of a game by introducing homemade characters with unauthorized powers, making it impossible for opponents to win or even survive. They can also quickly pollute the social atmosphere critical to many games.

Surely the online gaming providers need to take this more seriously and try and exterminate the buggers.

 

This interesting artcle summises the crap that genuine players have to put up with - it is one reason why I quit Diablo11 years ago ...... and now Everquest is becoming infected with looosers.

Cheaters are just unskilled wastes. They cannot play the game, so they cheat and feel like the big dog. Agree they are losers, but it is also kind of funny in a sick way.

People cheat because they don't want to spend the time to learn new skills. Simple as that really

What are you alienhominid the negative commentator - you may not like but other people may be interested - it would be a bit boring if we just read all of your smart comments blogs all the time - or are you an Online Cheater????

Kinda weird though, isn't it? I still wonder why people cheat because they can't be having that much fun if they suck at the game so much.

I like the topic, but the execution could be more fleshed out. Just remember Alien is just misunderstood his intentions are good or something like that.

Cheaters are annoying, but if your the once cheating its fun lol. But yeah, SP cheating is okay, MP not so much because it ruins other peoples experiences

sum cheats can be fun tho, love the GTA cheats! hours or fun just mashing in buttons and getting every weapon or vehicle posible and pissin off the local pigs...

Only time I use cheats is in SP games, never MP games, and I only use cheats when I'm really stuck, which isn't too often, thank god...

You should really cheat after you have finished the game as if you cheat during your first round you kind of like suck and you don't get the full experience of the game.

also i remember back in the day of diablo one online . i was acused all the time of cheating and hacking i just had no life and played that game nonstop

I do find it strange that most of the negative comments on blogs, and harsh criticism come from those members who do not have even have 1 blog to their name...

Cheaters are people who are too pathetic to be bothered getting skills.
I don't think I've ever seen cheat characters in MMORPGs before... But back in the days when I played runescape (lol, runescape), I used to get harassed by people just as stupid
"Cn i plz bi ur run 2h 4 15k" Upon deciphering their code, I realise they're trying to rip me off. I refuse them and they follow me yelling "n00b". It annoys me like cheaters do... so I feel it's a related comment!!

When reading through this what I really wanted to see was what kinda hacks/cheats these people have been using to ruin the game. Any info on that?

Yeah I was putting cheats in on Cod4 when gathering the intel. No achievement. Still pretty cool to just go slowmo and kill like 50 dudes with a pistol.
