Through an interview with The Luminoth Temple, Retro Studios has revealed several bits of information on Metroid Prime 3, which is in development for the Revolution as we speak. The following is a summation of the said interview.
Metroid Prime 3 will in some ways end the Prime trilogy.
Samus Aran will not be fighting the Metroids alone this time around, and Phazon will once again come into play.
Metroid Prime 3 will still play like the previous two Metroid games on the GameCube, however, Metroid Prime 3 will be taking advantage of several new features of the Revolution, including the controller.
No third-person option is planned.
And finally, Kenji Yamamoto is back to do the game's soundtrack, and is looking to branch out a bit further and expand the music of the Metroid series in Metroid Prime 3.
Metroid Prime 3 seems to already have had a decent amount of development time behind it. A good sign for it to be a launch title for the Revolution's projected 2006 release.
