Fable II Not Shipping With Online Co-op

According to a recent post from Microsoft’s Gamerscore blog Fable II will not have online co-op out of the box. Offline co-op, however, will work fine from day one and if you’re online and playing Fable II you’ll still be able to see your friend’s orbs and chat / trade but the drop-in drop-out play will need to be patched in after the release.

According to the post ”Lionhead and Microsoft Game Studios are looking to get the update out within the first week of launch in North America.” No word has been given yet as to a date for the patch or when it will see release in other regions.

I think this will be frustrating news for everyone that was looking towards Fable II as an online co-op RPG. However, as mentioned above, offline co-op will be working fine out of the box so you’ll still be able to adventure with your mates on day one, albeit locally.

Is this 100% certain? Because I had a look at the Lionhead forums yesterday, and there were lots of people arguing either side, saying that it might've been a leaked rumour, etc. Doesn't really worry me anyhow, I was planning to go singleplayer for a couple run-throughs before letting my mates kill off my entire family...

Bad news indeed. Microsoft just changed the contents and price of the LCE of Fable II.

I hope NZ gets online co-op within a reasonable time frame. I don't mind waiting a few weeks though, give me to time to hone my skills.

Yeah. Pity they changed the contents but not the price for us! At least GPStore are still charging the full price.

Online co-op worth $10??

That would be a good argument.

Agree with Uber - online co-op is pretty lame.

Co-op is about sitting next to someone and sharing the same game - not someone you dont know being half a world away and killing things you dont want to be killed.

You know you can online co-op with people from your XBL friends list... They also have these things called headsets. Oh! Peter Molyneux also added an in-game feature called saftey so people can't stuff your game.

Well then why dont you marry Peter Whatshisface?

(Haha, well played Koopa, well played)

tim705ReplyPosted by tim705 on 2 October 2008, 08:10PM
I would but we are both males. I can't marry him because there is no such thing as same sex 'marriage'. 'Gay marriage' is just a colliqual term for homosexual civil union. There is a big religeous controversy over this.
