New PSP Model Announced

In a move that brings us closer to a word like Robocop, Sony has announced that a new redesign of the PSP, entitled the PSP 3000, is coming to America this October. (We assume the rest of the world will follow.)

The difference? Sweet FA, really. The model features "a wider color gamut and higher contrast ratio to deliver deeper, more vibrant colors, as well as anti-reflection technology so you can see the screen more clearly when playing outdoors." And that's really about it, unless you count a slimmer PSP logo on the back.

It will ship in the States for $169.99 (before tax), and we will contact Sony this morning to get an official word on if and when this unit is coming to New Zealand. Keep it locked to NZGamer for more Leipzig news throughout the day!
