Hyperbolic antagonistic titles for the win! In all seriousness, however, EA overlord John Riccitiello has expressed his displeasure in the Wii Remote as it stands without Wii MotionPlus.
"The Wii MotionPlus is going to be good. If I had to pick one thing we suffered from, it was imprecise control on the Wii. That meant certain genres were never going to perform as well on the Wii. There are a couple of franchises in our booth. Go look at Dead Space and imagine playing that game with a wand and a Nunchuk. If they improve the precision, then you could have a good experience."
Of course, this will take a while to implement in games, seeing as third parties have only just discovered about Wii MotionPlus.
GameInformer interviewed several developers and publishes about Wii MotionPlus, and the general feeling was one of " annoyance and betrayal."
"None of them said they had any advance notice about the peripheral, and we were told that they were as surprised as everyone else when Nintendo revealed its existence on stage. That lack of prior notice means that, aside from Nintendo’s own roster of games, users won’t likely see any support for the device for at least six to nine months. The developers we spoke to said they hadn’t received any information from Nintendo about how to implement Wii MotionPlus into their upcoming projects, and they also expressed doubt that they would be able to incorporate it into games that are currently deep in development."
So don't hold your breath for a Wii lightsaber game any time soon.
Keep it locked to NZGamer for more news on the Wii MotionPlus as we get it. In the meantime, why not share your thoughts below?
Why haven't they got a lightsaber yet? Is technology that far behind that we can not attack people with a virtual glowing stick? Disappointing Nintendo. Disappointing.
That's totally lol.
I know it must take time to sync up motion controls to a game but who cares anyway? It's not like EA have ever made a game worth bragging about.
