The latest trailer for Sonic Unleashed finally reveals some interesting details about the game. Most importantly, it finally shows what Sonic will look like as a werehog, and what the gameplay will be like. It also shows that Sonic Unleashed, despite taking place on Earth, will forgo the super-realistic stylings of the ill-fated Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and go for a more animated approach.
In terms of the werehog gameplay, it appears that Sonic Unleashed will be a cross between Dynasty Warriors and Prince of Persia. Lots of enemies on screen to destroy, and plenty of swinging platforming sections -- I guess making use of those huge werehog forearms.
Those worried that the werehog gameplay will detract from the classic gameplay will be pleased to know that US producer Patrick Riley has revealed that in most cases, players will be able to choose whether they want to play as Sonic or his werehog form -- although some stages will be locked to a certain form.
So check out the trailer below to get a better picture of what to expect from Sonic Unleashed. Does it get you excited for the series? Does the werehog gameplay leave you drooling for more or a bit frosty towards the title? Let us know, and be sure to keep it locked to NZGamer for more information about Sonic Unleashed as we get it!
