Smackdown! on PS3 Cancelled?

We here at NZGamer have had our ear to the door of THQ offices and have heard some rumours that the PlayStation 3 version of WWE Smackdown! vs. RAW 2007 will indeed be canned. This would leave the game to be released on PS2, PSP and Xbox 360.

The rumours first emerged from the THQ German forums where an admin, and THQ developer, posted that the PS3 version may be cancelled in order to focus on the remaining consoles, as the PlayStation 3 version would be the subject of many delays if production were to go ahead on it. He goes on to say that all future games in the Smackdown! series will be published on the PS3.

This seems backed up by the fact that the PlayStation 3 information tab on the Smackdown mini-site at THQ.com has been removed.
