Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars

Published: Fri 13 Apr, 2007 | On:

C&C 3 is perhaps onbe of the most visually stunning games to come out this year, if you set up an endless amount of anti aircraft defences and shoot down an enemy it's quite the laser show. The Tiberium infested world is also fairly convincing, with the Hellscape of Australia (oh, and the Tiberium) being very nice indeed.

But the old fashioned tank rush is still your best chance of sucess for both sides. Strategy come to a standstill when your units AI makes them desperate to run in the worst possible direction. Your aircraft too, fly directly towards the enemy AA. Your best bet whether NOD or GDI is the good ol' fashioned everything at once attack. I personally like to fill APCs with Zone Troopers for a rolling column of laser delight.

Furthermore, turtling is extremely easy for NOD. The Obelish of light is very powerful on it's own, but some missions actually require you to re-do that strategy from C&C1, without the sandbags. Drop an outpost nearby, and wham, hem them in with an obelisk wall.

In any case, the acting has gotten better, but still lacks the swearing, the damns becoming darns. It's very pleasing for Kane to call you 'my son', and the GDI women are all very nice as well. I do miss however the optional missions where you take different paths for the same objective, but overall it is very good, and despit worries about EA and their devouring of Westwood, they actuaqlly made good.
